After reading the results of a writing productivity study that used some writers from a critique group that I belong to, Critters, I've decided to make my writing goals a little more public. It seemed to work quite well for me when I was in the middle of NaNoWriMo and since I stopped 'announcing' my word count it has dropped way off.
Today I finished edits on a short story and sent it off to I Should Be Writing, the host of this podcast, Mur Lafferty, is doing a critique contest and I thought it would be interesting to get a critique from her. I've been procrastinating the edits on this story for a few weeks now so it was nice to get it done and out the door, even if it isn't quite in good enough shape for publication submission.
I'll be fiddling around with my blog tonight and figure out how to create a running word count, submission, and rejection counter. Perhaps I can use this to get back in my NaNoWriMo groove, for a whole month I managed to write something on my novel every day.
